MTV Latin America recently held the first ever MTV Millennial Awards. The MTV Millennial Awards placed millennials ringside to celebrate their world with original pop-culture categories including music, digital world, television, social network, and, many others.

Our client, AJE, collaborated with MTV to create the first ever Think Big Award category. Big Cola challenged millennials to Think Big and so the “Big Cola Think Big” Award celebrated creative, dynamic, and ambitious projects focusing on community empowerment.

The Think Big Award had two finalists. The pro-social coveted award went to Colombian entrepreneur, Juan David Aristizabal, and his NGO Buena Nota. His campaign focused on connecting Colombians with community social issues and solutions through a network of entrepreneurs and volunteers.

The second nominee was the Fundacion Liderazgo Joven, which constructs houses made of ecologic bricks. The institution is focused on housing deficit and the improper waste management. They were able to identify an opportunity that would benefit millions of people by constructing houses made of recyclable bottles.

Juliana Sarria, our Manager of Client Development and Growth, made it possible for Big Cola Global to partner with MTV Millennial Awards to create the the Think BIG Award:
“It was very rewarding to create, implement, and execute a project of this magnitude for a brand such as Big Cola. With its philosophy “Think Big” and the collaboration of a network such as MTV and an agency like BPN, we achieved great results.”

The MTV Millennial Awards were packed with celebrities, digital people, tweeters, and music fans. It was broadcasted worldwide live on the internet through millennial.mtvla.com and aired on TV on MTV Latin America on Sunday, July 28 at 9PM (Mex/Arg/Col).

One of our favorite awards of the evening was inspired by the undisputable digital kings of the world: cats. Thanks to worldwide millennials, cats are protagonists of countless memes, viral images, and videos on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. The cat was immortalized by MTV to be the standard and the highest honor in the Millennial MTV Awards.
