For BPN Gives Back in December, we decided to focus on the equality social issue our agency feels strongly about and be a part of USPS Operation Santa.
Hundreds of thousands of children’s of all ages send letters to “Santa Claus, North Pole, Alaska” every year. This year, 2014, the Postal Service is celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the letters to Santa program as it continues to fulfill the dreams of children Nationwide.
USPS designed this program to allow those willing to help out the less fortunate during the holidays to “adopt” a letter to fulfill a families holiday wishes.
This year BPN was able to spread the holiday spirit to five families in New York and Chicago.
BPN employees volunteered to shop for gifts with gift cards funded by BPN hoping to make their wishes come true.
The first time BPN participated in Operation Santa was last year in Chicago; and fueled from their success it inspired BPN New York to build upon their momentum to participate this year.
We were able to purchase warm clothing for the harsh winter nights, pajamas for them to sleep soundly, books to inspire their dreams and toys to fuel their imagination for their future.
